Newest surprises from ASUS: The Zenfone 4 Series

WE LOVE PHOTO
Last year, my wife and I bought a Zenfone 3 Selfie and she loves it so much. Now after seeing the new phones especially the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie and the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro, I think she wants to upgrade and she has been bugging me about it nonstop. I think I really have to make a run for it. Joke. I love my wife.

ASUS has done it again with their newest ZENFONE 4 SERIES bringing the tagline "WE LOVE PHOTO" in every new Zenfone.

Last August 19, 2017 and coincidentally during the Kadayawan Season of Davao City, our friends from ASUS Philippines paid a visit to the promise land and invited a few people over to be the first ones to get a glimpse of the latest ZENFONE phones in the ZENFONE 4 SERIES.

As an Asus fan myself (having both an Asus Zenfone 3 Selfie and also an Asus Zenfone 3 Max), I was one of the lucky ones who was able to check out the newest phones namely the ZENFONE 4, ZENFONE 4 MAX, ZENFONE 4 SELFIE and the ZENFONE 4 SELFIE PRO.

Let's talk about some specifications of the Zenfone 4 first

ZENFONE 4

The ASUS ZENFONE 4 comes in two colors: Midnight Black and Moonlight White. It has a RAM storage of 6GB and a ROM storage of 64GB which is very impressive. The back camera carries a 12 megapixel main camera which is a Sony IMX362, 1/2.55" large sensor size, F1.8 aperture, color correction sensor and LED flash just to name a few. The second rear camera carries an 8 megapixel camera, with 120 degrees wide-angle camera and 200% wider view which is great for group shots so nobody gets left behind. As for the front camera, it's at 8 megapixels. The video recording of this phone is quite impressive as well as it has 4K UHD at 30 fps video recording and also an Electronic Image Stabilization to achieve those shake-free videos. Its battery is at 3300mAh and comes with dual speakers.

The Zenfone 4, which costs 28,995.00 pesos, comes with a JBL Clip 2 portable Bluetooth speaker, a premium Clear Case and ZenPower Slim upon purchase.

A size comparison of the ZenPower Slim vs my Jollibee Kids Club Happy Plus Card (no laughing please). This is very lightweight and not a hassle to carry anywhere.

Up next, the ASUS ZENFONE 4 SELFIE and my wife's current obsession

The ASUS ZENFONE 4 SELFIE comes in four very nice colors: Deepsea Black, Sunlight Gold, Rose Pink and Mint Green. From the name of the phone itself, this is dedicated to those who are so-called selfie addicts. The front camera, which is the most used part of this phone for sure, is at 20 megapixels, has an F2.0 aperture, Softlight LED flash and ASUS SelfieMaster technology for smart beautification in selfies, videos and livestreams. It's second front camera for selfies is at 8 megapixels, has a 120 degree wide-angle camera and 200 % wider view for more friends and scenery to fit inside the frame just like the rear camera of the ZENFONE 4. Despite the back camera not being a priority of this phone, it still carries a generous 16 megapixel rear camera with LED real tone flash and Face detection auto-focus. As for the video recording of this phone, the rear camera has a 3-axis EIS to make videos shake-free.

This phone costs only 13,995 pesos and comes with a clear case worth 699 pesos and also a Gong Yoo poster. For those who are not familiar, Gong Yoo is the lead character of the Koreanovela "Goblin" which became a hit last year and he is the current ambassador of ASUS. If you want to know what he looks like, just look at me. Joke!

Let's move on to my wife's other obsession, the ZENFONE 4 SELFIE PRO

The ASUS ZENFONE 4 SELFIE PRO comes in three colors which is the Deepsea Black, Sunlight Gold and Rouge Red. It's just the same with Selfie but minus the Mint Green Color. The screen is 5.5 inches (also the same with SELFIE) and carries a nice main selfie camera with 24 megapixels of DuoPixel Camera technology. The camera is a Sony flagship IMX 362 dual pixel image sensor and has an F1.8 aperture. As for video recording, this camera offers an impressive 4K UHD selfie video which is great for those who are into vlogging. The second selfie camera is much lower in megapixel than the selfie (5 megapixels) but are the same in terms of the 120 degree wide-angle camera and 200% wider view for more people to fit in the frame while taking a photo or video. As for its rear camera, it is at 16 megapixels which is also the same with the selfie. Now with all those amazing specs, it is indeed fitting to be called a PRO in the selfie achievement game.

This phone is priced at 18,995 pesos and comes with a clear case worth 699 pesos and a poster of Gong Yoo (same with the selfie).

As the saying goes "saving the best for last", this is the phone that caught my attention during the event. The ASUS ZENFONE 4 MAX's edge among all the other phones for me is its battery life which is at 5000mAh - 40 hours 3G talk time, 46 days 4G standby, up to 22 hours video playback and up to 26 hours wifi web browsing. As what I have mentioned earlier, I own a Zenfone 3 Max which has a 4100mAh battery life. Now for somebody like me who works almost 12 hours a day on the weekdays and who goes out most of the time during the weekend, battery life is very important to me. Sometimes I get lazy in bringing my powerbanks and I sometimes even forget to charge them so that's why I rely more on the battery life of the phone. So if the Zenfone 3 Max is doing great with me so far, what more would the Zenfone 4 Max? Oh, and this can also serve as a powerbank thanks to reverse charging with the help of the OTG dongle. So it is a phone and can be a powerbank at the same time. That's why this is the phone I want to purchase among all the other phones in the Zenfone 4 Series.

By the way, this only costs 9,995 which is indeed very affordable. I recommend this phone to all the guys out there. Boys, we all need a phone with great battery life. This is the answer.

So what are you waiting for? Order your favorite ASUS ZENFONE 4 Phone right now. As for me, still trying to convince the mrs. that I should get the new max but I recently just bought my 3 max so it's sort of hard to convince her. But when it comes to the love for ASUS, we are both on the same page.
